When the French Philosopher Gilbert Simondon thought about technology in 1958, he wrote the following sentence: ‘Human reality resides in machines as human actions fixed and crystalized in functioning structures’. This leads to the following question: if technology is ‘human actions fixed’, can we say that there is something like a gesture of technology? And is this gesture specific to a certain type of technology in accordance to what is fixed? So: What is the gesture of digitalization?
